danish cord bench

This bench was created in pursuit of lightness and effortless everyday use. Its design is clean, simple, and highly functional — a quiet echo of the Nordic countries where I once lived. The seat is hand-woven with paper cord specially imported from Denmark, chosen to enhance the sense of lightness. The frame is crafted from French oak and finished with a warm oil that brings out the wood’s natural beauty and makes it wonderfully comfortable to the touch.

This piece was exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in Sweden in 2015, where it received a wonderful response from visitors.

このベンチは、軽さと日常での使いやすさを徹底的に追求した作品です。 私がかつて暮らした北欧を思わせる、クリアでシンプルかつ機能的なデザインに仕上げました。 シートにはデンマークから取り寄せた本場のペーパーコードを丁寧に編み込み、軽やかさを最大限に表現しています。 素材にはフレンチオークを使用し、オイル仕上げによって見た目にも温かみがあり、手に馴染む優しい質感に仕上げました。
