A “wood sample” is a collection of wood specimens that every woodworker gathers to deepen their understanding of a material — its colour, scent, texture, and character.

The wood samples I have collected from around the world are far more than mere references. Each piece is a fragment of my travels and treasured memories of life. They quietly remind me of the landscapes I have seen, the skills I have learned, and the joyful moments I have shared with people along the way.

The cabinet features a smooth-sliding tambour door. Inside are six vertical drawers designed to hold the samples. In total, the box can accommodate up to 48 different species of wood. Yet my collection will never be complete — because I continue to travel, learn, and pass on the techniques and knowledge I have gained across many countries to anyone who wishes to carry the tradition forward.

私が世界中で集めてきた木のサンプルは、単なる資料ではありません。 旅の記憶、そして人生の大切なかけらそのものです。一つひとつの木片が、私が見た風景、学んだ技法、そしてそこで出会った人々との温かな時間を、静かに思い出させてくれます。

箱の扉は滑らかに開閉するタンバードアになっています。 内部には6つの縦型引き出しがあり、そこに木のサンプルを収納します。 このキャビネットには最大48種類の木片を収めることができます。 しかし、私のサンプル収集に終わりはありません。 多くの国で学んだ技術と知識を、次の世代へ伝え続けるために——これからも旅を続け、集め続けていくからです。
